Remembering the Great (White) Jack Russell

Back in 2018 I had the pleasure of interviewing Jack Russell and having him on my radio show. He was a funny and friendly guy who was gracious enough to give his time to what ended up being a standout episode. Sadly, he recently left us.

Jack was (obviously) the lead singer of the 1980s metal band, Great White. He passed away recently at the young age of 63 after battling Lewy body dementia and multiple system atrophy, conditions that affect coordination, balance, and speech. His death was confirmed by a statement on his official Instagram account, which highlighted his humor, zest for life, and significant contribution to rock and roll.

If you were a fan or friend of Jack’s, I’m sure he’d love it if more people learned about, shared, and got involved with the Rock Against MS Foundation.

Jack’s health issues led him to announce his retirement from touring in July 2024, just a month before his passing. His legacy in rock music is celebrated by fans and fellow musicians, who remember him for his remarkable voice and enduring impact on the genre.

Personally, I thank him for making time to join me on my show when it was just getting off the ground, and I value all the time I got to spend with him. If you have a personal memory of Great White or Jack, please leave it in the comments.

Godspeed, Seth Binzer

I was absolutely heartbroken to learn of the passing of a dear friend this week. My sincerest condolences go out to all of Seth’s family, band members, friends and fans.

He has a special place in my heart because I got sober with Seth. It’s hard to believe that was 24 years ago. The first time I met him we were in recovery meetings together, and our friendship grew from there.

He was just another struggling kid at the time – Crazy Town and Shifty Shellshock weren’t things yet – and he was just part of an amazing group of people who helped me get back from the brink. All just regular folks (except for maybe an adult star), struggling desperately to stay clean and sober, one day at a time.

Then this happened:

Seth’s career highlight occurred not too long after we first met, but when I heard the song and saw the video – I didn’t recognize him at first. Not because he looked different, but because he was a modest man who never talked about his music. He was focused on his recovery.

Once the Crazy Town cat was out of the bag though, I remember being like: “Dude! Good Work! Be Proud!” He replied, “Yeah? You like it then?” That was Seth. And that is how I will remember him. Not as the shirtless rock star, but as the humble kid who helped me get my life back on track.

When I launched my podcast he came to the studio and sat for an amazing interview like no time had passed. I remember people warning me he probably wouldn’t show up, I guess he wasn’t known in the industry for his reliability, but something gave me faith. Then he appeared and shined. Gave me a big hug and said, “Let’s do this!“. I so appreciate him for helping Rock N’ Sexxxy Uncensored get started, will miss his unique aura, and this one hurts badly.

Seth Binzer was an amazing human being, a valued friend, but a deeply troubled soul. If you loved his music, saw him on Dr. Drew, or encountered him on the street – you may have sensed the same thing. That now brings the number of Celebrity Rehab participants who have since died to 12. I so wish that Seth had stayed off that unfortunate list.

I will miss my little “sober brother”, my sympathy goes out to everyone else in his world, and I am honored to have known him. Godspeed, Seth. You will be missed, and I love you.

Happy New Year from Amber Lynn!

Once again, it’s out with the old and in with the new. Godfrey and I would like to wish all our friends, followers and fans a wonderful year. We hope it brings courage, strength, adventure and most of all – joy.

One of my personal goals for the new year is to continue the momentum behind – and string of amazing guests we’ve been able to feature on – the Rock’N’SeXXXy UNcensored show. If you’re unfamiliar, or have fallen behind on an episode or three, they’re all archived right here and I hope you enjoy them.

I also look forward to continuing my work as an animal rights advocate, and Godfrey thinks that’s a pretty good idea, too.

This week’s special guest is none other than Hollywood film and TV legend Sally Kirkland: a movie, television and theater veteran since the 1960s, she is probably best known for her role in the motion picture drama Anna (1987) for which she garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, and that year she won The Golden Globe- Best Actress, The Independent Spirit award and the L.A. Film Critics award. The Los Angeles Times named her in the Top 10 Actress of the Decade.

The almighty film and theater legend, Sally Kirkland, tonight on RNSU!

She was nominated for a second Golden Globe award by an actress in a TV mini series for The Haunted (1991). Although she originally planned to be with us in person, Sally will be joining us via Zoom.

She has appeared in over 250 film and television productions in a career that has spanned over six decades, some highlights include; Sally’s first director was the legendary 1960’s visual artist, film director Andy Warhol in 1964’s The 13 Most Beautiful Women, and was a former member of  Warhol’s The Factory. She has appeared in a long list of Hollywood blockbuster films which include (1973) The Sting, (1973) classic Barbra Streisand The Way We Were, (1976) A Star is Born, and (1980) Private Benjamin with Goldie Hawn. She is also known for her roles in Cold Feet (1989), Best of the Best (1989), Oliver Stone’s JFK (1991) and Bruce Almighty (2003).

Her television appearances include, Criminal Minds, The Incredible Hulk, Murder She Wrote, Charlie’s Angels, Starsky and Hutch, and Roseanne on which she had a recurring role.

Still as busy acting today as ever, the newest buzz in Hollywoodland is that she has recently joined the cast of the highly anticipated film 80 for Brady starring football legend Tom Brady and a story of four friends from director Kyle Marvin. She joins an all-star cast of notable Hollywood legends including Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, Sara Gilbert, Harry Hamlin, and others.

Sharon Mitchell and Amber Lynn – Together Again!

From those early days in the adult industry… right through to my path to sobriety. She’s always been there and I love her, dearly.
