Adult film star ®️Amber Lynn‘s life has been a captivating dance between the glitz of the adult film industry and the complexities of personal journeys. Emerging from a turbulent childhood, she found solace in the Los Angeles club scene as a teenager.
It was there she she met Althea Flynt, wife of “Hustler” magazine publisher Larry Flynt, opening the door to a world of modeling and photography. As a result, in the early 1980s Amber became a bikini and figure model in Los Angeles, and part of the notorious Sunset Strip club scene – the stage was set.
Amber Lynn got her film career started in California, and then (due to demand and obvious potential) traveled worldwide, co-starring in films in Paris, France with the legendary Sharon Mitchell. Then in Rome, Italy with the legendary Ciccolina, and John Holmes for the classic, “The Rise of the Roman Empress “.
Amber Lynn – Paving the Way for Featured Dancers
She did some photo spreads for Hustler, taken by famed photographer Clive McLean, then did shoots for “Chic”, “Penthouse”, “Playboy”, “High Society” and “Club” men’s magazines.
Amber soon got into the adult film business, debuting in 1983’s Vixens in Heat. Followed up by Bobby Hollander’s Personal Touch III in 1986. The bright lights of fame cast a long shadow. Industry scandals and personal tragedies, including the suicide of close friend Shauna Grant, led Amber to question the cost of her success.
She opted for a dramatic career shift, leaving the adult film world behind (although she would return!) and embracing a life of dancing and private performances in Canada. where she would break records for attendance and pave the way for other adult stars in terms of live performances.
After crossing over to become a featured dancer on the “gentleman’s club” circuit – the first adult film star to do so – she was earning up to $25,000 a week performing in clubs all over the US and Canada, to packed houses.
While the transition proved challenging, it allowed Amber to explore her artistic side and forge a deeper connection with her audience.

Amber went on to appear in the mainstream horror film, Things, and then had a recurring spot on on The Man Show with Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla. She was also featured on a Channel 4 News Spotlight. And then shot a feature with famed photographer David La Chappelle for mainstream trend magazine ARENA.
Amber then returned to adult movies and starred in major titles like Rocky X, Night Club, Vivid’s Where The Boys Aren’t 6, Babe Watch 3, and Babewatch 4 – with record-breaking fees as a featured performer.
During this time, Amber was also featured multiple times on magazine covers and in pictorials for High Society, Cheri, and twice in Playboy Magazine as a celebrity interview.
Amber’s Rock n’ Roll Legacy
Amber has always loved, and been directly involved with, the Los Angeles music scene. Making appearances on stage with legendary bands like Aerosmith, Skid Row, Motley Crue, and others. Highlighted by her co-opening of the 2006 AVN Awards with Vince Neil.
Amber joined Guns and Roses at Wembley Stadium in London England after receiving her Hot D’Or Lifetime Achievement award award at the 92 Cannes Film Festival.
And in 2005,, she received the Free Speech Coalition’s Lifetime Achievement Award – one of the most prominent international honors in adult entertainment.
In addition to her adult work, she has also had parts in several non-adult Hollywood productions, such as 52 Pick-Up (1986) with Roy Scheider and directed by John Frankenheimer, and Evils of the Night (1985) with John Carradine and Julie Newmar, and has appeared on The Man Show (1999) with Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel.

She is a member of the Adult Video News (AVN) Hall of Fame and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Free Speech Coalition (FSC). She has been a vocal opponent of the Los Angeles “Safer Sex in the Adult-Film Industry” initiative, which would mandate condom use in adult films shot in Los Angeles County. Since 1992 she has been involved in the Youth AIDS Foundation of Los Angeles, the first charity to accept contributions from the adult industry.
In August, 2018, Amber won the Nollywood Humanitarian Achievement Award.
Amber Lynn has been a major part of the adult-film industry for almost 30 years and is one of the most recognizable names – and faces – inside and outside the business.
